after a painting by James 'Jamie' Wyeth

President John F Kennedy

The result of about six hours’ work at the easel is my version of JFK’s portrait by James ‘Jamie’ Wyeth. Most troublesome challenge? Expressing the fist before the mouth–without it also appearing that the finger is in the mouth. Wyeth’s choice to include the fist made JFK seem more dedicated and vulnerable. But every pose has its practical problems. [NOTE: My latest version has been substituted for the original image posted.]
