From life drawing open studio today, a portrait I call ‘Chin Up’. Great novelty was provided by the coordinator, who chose to light him from floor level. This was done in charcoal pencil and chalk on 18 x 24″ gray drawing paper.

Lighting is so important for life drawing and so may groups just don’t consider it

Not in my experience either, Graham! More than one light source, for instance, adds a lot of complexity for not much trouble. Thank you for your comment!
