Reading a mind-bending book right now about “creativity and intimate partnership” edited by Whitney Chadwick and Isabelle de Courtivron. It’s titled,’Significant Others‘[London: Thames and Hudson, 1993].

This fascinating collection of essays explores in depth the professional lives and love-lives of 13 pairs of artists (visual or literary, mainly) from the 20th century.

This paperback would be an especially valuable study for women artists or feminist men artists to read. It highlights the various forms such duos may take–alongside the enhancement and destruction possible in each.

PS. The pair above come from a double pastel portrait done awhile back. Featured here not too long ago.
