Rita is a regular model at the venues I visit! But she seemed in a new mood to me (or maybe I was the one with a new mood). here is a 90-minute effort at capturing it, in a large format, using red-brown pastel stick. I loved the necklace and figured staff!
Interesting how particular ornaments grab your attention. It’s often a scarf hat or even hairstyle that decides who I will sketch at the cafe.

Certainly I am very drawn to ornament. Probably I am looking for a clue to his or her mood: something to react to. Total nudity is rather overwhelming for me to depict!

Yes I can understand that. Apart from going to Dr Sketchy burlesque life drawing events, all the life drawing I did at university was done by models without ornaments or props.

For a learner, it’s probably ideal. (Those burlesque life drawing events sound worth the flight, by the way!) Glad to learn about your art education highlights. Thankful for connecting with you through the blog–since it’s the season for saying so!
